In nature we find that animals which are meat-eaters are usually aggressive, fierce and violent, while animals that eat grass and fruits are more gentle, calm and peaceful.
In wartime big quantities of animal proteins were provided to soldiers to make them more aggressive so that meat is used as drug to develop aggression, violence and moral insensitivity. Even dogs, although carnivorous in nature, keep guard and attack strangers more effectively if they are fed with meat rations larger than usual. Another fact is that when animals are brought to the slaughterhouse they are fearful and restless. Feelings of fear, stress, panic, and may be hatred and frustration are created in the animals mind when taken to be killed, and these feelings provoke their endocrine glands to secrete certain hormones which they lodge in the tissues of the animal. We cannot see these subtle substances stored in the flesh of a dead animal, but we inevitably every time taking a dish of meat are taking a dish of fear, stress, panic, hatred and frustration! Hence one would experience unexplained fear and stress. Wrong believes and cultural eating habits block us from linking our consumption of meat to the negative emotions which we go through.
There is a strong connection between the body and the mind. Certain organs have affinity to certain emotions.
For example the emotion which is related to the liver is anger and irritation, and while that which is related to kidneys is fear. Another example is when the heart is not functioning well or overworked there is also certain emotion related to it and that is hopelessness and worrying.
Due to meat consumption inner organs natural balance is disturbed and many related emotions are triggered!
Have you got sometimes trapped into certain emotions and you were unable to explain them? Have you experienced unexplained fear from something unknown and you were unable to define it? And have you thought it to be your intuition warning you from something bad happening while it was just a provoked emotion coming from inside of you due to the weakness in some of your organs? Have you felt so much irritation and exploded with anger at the first person you met in that troubled morning? May be it is the time now to think about your diet!
By going against nature we provoke our own destruction, and by killing animals we end up killing ourselves, whether through the bad effect the wrong diet has on us, or through the lack of compassion we develop and which reflects in our behavior towards each other and in the wars we have on Earth.
You are what you eat!
If cells are affected by food and water, and if the nature of the cells affects the nature of the human mind, obviously human beings should eat the correct diet, because food and mind are closely related to each other. Any food item, whether good or bad, must not be taken indiscriminately because it may lead to mental degeneration- Shrii Shrii Anandamurti
