Vegetarian diet is a diet excluding meat, fish, poultry, eggs or any slaughterhouse by-product such as gelatin. Vegetarians live on a diet of grains, pulses, nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruit, milk and milk products.
Sentient diet ( also called Sattvic) is vegetarian diet excluding onion, garlic and mushrooms.
It is a diet that includes all Sattvic (sentient) food and excludes all Tamasic (static) food. Sattvic food includes fruits, vegetables (except onion, garlic, mushroom, red lentils, mustard leaves, violet carrot and white eggplant), nuts, seeds, grains, pulses, milk and milk products. Tamasic food includes meat (all kinds of flesh), eggs, onions, garlic,mushroom, red lentils, mustard leaves, violet carrot and white eggplant.
